I ended up with a 2010 Chevrolet Aveo, and it surprised me in so many pleasant ways. Use manual LOCK button on steep hills - Don't lug the engine. only major repair was throttle body. My windshield wiper motors needed to be replaced. Driving the Aveo is a pleasure. I drove it for three years and only have to switch to minivan because I had another child.

It had an over heating problem right after i got it but I took it back to the place i bought it from and the fixed some relay wires i believe and it drove fine after that. The interior car handles are plastic with a metal coating and all but 1 have peeled off. Overall, the car is great. Aside from the standard oil changes it's never needed to be in the shop. I did a little of the work myself (spark plugs, ignition coils, VCGs, and a few other things are easy peasy on this car), about 1/3 was done by shade tree mechanics, and the other half was done in shops. In the 12 years I've had it, I moved three states away, lived out of it for awhile and have never had any serious problems. I saw that the mileage of the car was low (about 60,00) and had all of the basic features I needed. It seemed great at first it only had 59,000 miles on it. from Toronto, Canada
The car also proves to be very maneuverable at slow and high speeds, and can easily perform a tight turn at moderate speed. All of this in 2 months.
gas mileage excellent.The best things about this thing is the Headroom and legroom for both the driver and the passenger in the backseat the only thing that gave me a problem for a while with the air conditioning in that got fixed and it's working fine great on mileage it's got two seats that fold down in the back so that you can help by objects that are long.
