No rooms are near/on the beach. Also there are no shops close by so pick up any essentials beforehand in Dunsborough. We had a few issues on check in but these were quickly resolved. The resort's award-winning health and rejuvenation day spa, Vie Spa, offers luxe treatments that echo the relaxed, natural feel of its secluded South-West location. Other Side of the Moon Restaurant presents distinctly "Modern Australian" menu a choice of alfresco or indoor dining with superb Indian Ocean vistas. The Villa had big (king) bed (the bed & pillows were very comfortable), kitchenette (stove top & microwave), dishwater, (2x) large TVs, separate lounge and meals area with a table, and then there was the huge bathroom. Very small outside seating area at bar to have evening drinks and watch the sunset, If the 3/4 settees are taken you have to sit inside the unwelcoming bar area.
The restaurant provided a excellent menu (expensive, but quality produce: $170 = 3 courses with drinks for 2) with numerous options for those with food allergies (GF/GFO, DF/DFO and Veg & Vegan items too). Very dull and dreary, and in definite need of updating and decorating.
Some new wait staff (I assume) could be more attentive. Bbq area appeared to be an after thought, with no care given to it, with just a few chairs to sit on and hardly inviting. Also overlooking the water is Bunker Bay Bistro & Bar, ideal for casual dining and cocktails with friends and family. Instead take a bottle of wine to the beach to watch the sunset, which was fantastic!

Looking out over the Bay from the restaurant or lounge bar is a treat. Our evening meal in the restaurant was delicious. Paintwork chipped. Yes, it is comparatively expensive to stay here, but the location and resort on a whole are hard to beat, particularly once planned improvements have been completed. No offer to take us to our room with all our luggage and baby equipement- rooms are not close by.
But was a little disappointed with breakfast.
The 2 bed villas have little views due to the vegetation, and dont shout out luxury! Both venues are complemented by an impressive wine list showcasing local favourites. Plenty of seats, towels and shower area.
